Since the dawn of mankind, meditation has created altered states of consciousness and taught self-mastery. Of course modern-day stresses are drastically different than those that primitive hunter-gatherers endured; but the prehistoric man’s fascination with the flames of a campfire – resulting in non-structured meditation – has remained central to what it is to be human.

Central serous retinopathy afflicts pilots on a regular basis. It is a condition that impairs the vision of the afflicted individual who tends to be under a lot of stress. The increased stress that they experience stimulates the production of a hormone helping the body to better handle the heightened anxiety. Individuals who have CSR levels measuring 50-80% more than most people will be more susceptible to the condition.

Chakras are the doorways to the energy vibrations that we take in and absorb from our environment that are unseen by us in ordinary waking life. We are surrounded at all times by a range of electrical impulses, vibrations and waves in the air that are received by us even though we are not conscious of it happening. The five elements; earth, air, fire and water and ether, represent everything in creation. In the interconnectedness of all things, these five elements are all that is, and throughout many varied theosophical and even scientific traditions they have been regarded as truth. There are correlations between the elements and the planets in astrology, and nearly every religion validates the belief that God created these elements as the foundation for all that we would ever know or experience. It comes as no surprise that our Chakras also correspond with these basic elements of creation. The Root Chakra corresponds with the element Earth. It regulates survival of the species, contentment with one’s place on the planet and an acceptance of the physical bodies from which we perceive all of reality. Earth energy is stable, grounding and safe. The element of Earth lends it’s sturdy foundation to our Root Chakra, and in so doing it binds us intimately to our physical experience.

Working out your chakras is a lot like working out your muscles. If you are going to exercise properly than you need to know a few things about the muscles that you want to work out. First, you need to have some sort of idea what the function and purpose of each muscle is. Understanding this will give you an idea of how to exercise the muscle. You aren’t going to work your arms by doing squats, and your core isn’t going to be worked too well from bicep curls. After all, it isn’t enough to just workout- you need to work out according to the goals you want to accomplish and the muscles you want to improve. The same holds true when energizing and strengthening your chakras. You need to know which chakras to work out, and how to target it specifically.
